THE Tullamore Court Hotel was the venue for a concert celebrating women’s talent on International Women's Day and the current Rose of Tralee was the star attraction.
The MC for the night was Anne Boylan who is an award winning journalist and writes in Social & Personal. Scoil Mhuire International Group gave an example of all nations and cultures coming together in dance.
The current Rose of Tralee Clare Kambamett was the star of the show.
On March 8 each year, this particular day is set aside to celebrate the economic, social and political achievements of women across the world.
The concert was organised by the committee of Power4Good,an Irish NGO based in Tullamore, which has been working for the past 5 years to assist people with disabilities in countries such as Zambia, Malawi and Zimbabwe, with a human rights project and a micro finance project enabling people with a disability to set up their own business.
The evening commenced with an International Group of Dancers from Tullamore’s Scoil Mhuire. The group is known as “Daltai” (pupils). They charmed everyone with a diversity of traditional dance reflective of Nigeria, Poland, India, Ireland, and then combine through the international language of ballet.
